Live Your Life In Colour
Attachment Oriented
Attachment styles are formed in childhood; however they are not written in stone.
We can change our attachment style by processing attachment wounds and changing the stories we tell ourselves based on those wounds. Secure attachments in adult life can heal disordered attachment styles that have developed in childhood.
Secure Attachment Style
You tend to be okay with being close to others, while you are also able to be independent and on your own.
Anxious Attachment Style
Your relationships tend to be characterized by anxiety and fear of losing the person or being too much.
Avoidant Attachment Style
You prefer relying on yourself rather than others as it feels safer that way. You value your independence. It can be hard for you to open up to others.
Disorganized Attachment Style
You have a deep desire to be very close to someone but then decide you need to be distant. This is confusing for both yourself and your friends/partners. Emotional regulation is a challenge for you. These conflicting emotions and behaviours distinguish this attachment style from the others.
